A Mass for Vincent R. “Bud” Najdowski , 98, will be celebrated on Wednesday 10:00 AM at St. Emily Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until prayers 9:30 AM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect.

Vince was a member of Prospect VFW Post 1337 and the American Legion Post 525. He served 4 years in the Army Medical Corps, the 216th General Hospital, of which the last 2 years were in the European theater of operations. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant. After his service to our country he operated the family meat market until 1964 when he went back to college and obtained a degree in finance. He retired in 1983 as an officer of the 1st Federal Savings and Loan of Des Plaines.

Vince was a member of the Mt. Prospect Sr. Advisory Council, an Elderhonor award winner, the Village of Mt. Prospect Comprehensive Development Committee and the Police Pension Fund. He was an avid Cubs fan and sportsman, bowling an ABC sanctioned 300 game and shot a hole in one on the 17th hole at Stonehenge Golf Course. Vince was married for 55 + years to the late Marcella nee Guras Najdowski.

He is survived by sons Vincent J. (Nancy Woodward) Najdowski and Michael J. (Diane) Najdowski ; grandchildren Darleen (John) Aragon, Kimberly (Todd) Woloszyk and Vincent (Tina Sanchez) Najdowski; Dennis (Emily) Toomey, Jennifer (Brent Pennington) Wagner; Mark Najdowski and Michael (Kelli) Najdowski; 11 great grandchildren. He was the loving brother of Conrad ( the late Ginny) Nagel, Rita (the late George) Zimny, Mathilda (the late Donald) Williams, the late Adele (the late Harry) Mass, the late Dorothy (the late Gilbert) Adamowski, the late Virgina Goris and the late Lorraine (the late Al) Neuman. He was preceded in death by his parents Stella and Vincent Najdowski and his loving daughter Pamela Toomey. He was the devoted companion of Evelyn Love.
